Privacy policy
Effective November 5, 2026
Private beta. Daily Ground is in a private beta with invited participants and fictional example data. Please don't enter real health information. This policy will be updated before Daily Ground is used with real clients.
What we collect
- Your mobile number, used to sign you in with a one-time code and, if you opt in, to send you texts.
- Your display name.
- What you write or say in Daily Ground: messages typed in the app, texts you send, and written transcripts of voice conversations. We don't keep voice recordings.
- Consent records: when you opted in or out of texts, and which consent text you were shown.
- Account and security records: sign-in times and an audit log of who accessed or changed information.
How we use it
- To run the service: sign-in, conversations, check-ins and texts you asked for.
- To let the AI answer you. The AI answers only from what was said in your own conversation and, in counselor-supported conversations, from the plan your counselor wrote.
- To show your counselor the conversation, if you are in a counselor-supported program.
- To keep the service secure and to investigate misuse.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Text messages
Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the service providers below that deliver the messages. See how text messages work.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run Daily Ground, only for that purpose:
- Twilio: sign-in codes and text messages.
- OpenAI: generating AI replies and voice conversations. OpenAI may keep request data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.
- Cloud hosting and database providers: storing and serving the app.
Who can see your conversations
Only the members of a conversation can see it. In a counselor-supported conversation, that is you and your assigned counselor. Program staff don't see conversations they aren't part of.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text, or turn texts off in the app, to stop text messages.
- Email us to ask for a copy of your information or to have it deleted.
Security
Connections to Daily Ground are encrypted (HTTPS). Sign-in codes and session tokens are stored only as one-way hashes. Health-related conversations are kept in a separate database from general account information.
Children
Daily Ground is for adults 18 and older.
Changes
We'll post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app.
